The Rev'd Fr. Jeffrey Edmunds, Rector
Fr. Jeffrey Edmunds was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop William McClean, Jr., on April 2, 2011, and instituted the fourth rector of St. Luke's Anglican Church six weeks later.
He's a graduate of the DMAS Scott School of Theology, having earned a Licentiate in Theology. He's also earned degrees from the University of Virginia (BA), Florida State University (MLS), and the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School (JD). He practiced law in Virginia for many years prior to his ordination, and was, at one point before all of that, a civilian employee of the United States Navy, 6th Fleet.
He's been married to Rachel Hughes Edmunds since July 17, 1982, and they are the proud parents of two grown sons. He's published several articles in The Journal of Fredericksburg History, and served on the board of directors of the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. (HFFI). He was the first President of the Welsh Society of Fredericksburg.
Since 2012 Fr. Edmunds has flown every few years to Spain and 'unplugged from the grid' by escorting pilgrims on the 'Camino de Santiago' -- a 500 mile long medieval pilgrim's path to the shrine of St. James the Apostle at Santiago de Compostela.. The pilgrimage he planned for September 2020 was cancelled, of course, but he was able to walk again in September 2021!
